Broadband providers charge a flat monthly fee for a permanently connected connection, so there is never any need to dial in to get online or having to wait for off-peak phone times!

You connect your computer to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) using an ADSL Modem which plugs into either a USB or an Ethernet Port on the back of your computer, then the other lead connects to your telephone line. Most ISP's will provide an ASDL modem free of charge, others will charge a nominal supply fee.
